A tale of unforced errors

BNP Paribas WTA Finals, Singapore

Round Robin, Day 2: [CR3] Petra Kvitova (CZE) vs. [CR6] Agnieszka Radwanska (POL)

It was a match filled with errors from Kvitova and Radwanska won  6-2, 6-3 because she stayed focused and kept her unforced errors to a minimum.

Kvitova’s powerful groundstrokes were of no use today because nothing can compensate for the number of unforced errors that she made.  Was she nervous, did tension impair her ability to focus?  Her rhythm was missing and try as she might, she could not get her powerful groundstrokes to land between the lines. Instead of adjusting her game by changing the pace on her shots and centering the ball, she kept going for the lines and more pace.

Radwanska played an intelligent match, she was very patient and consistent and she calmly watched as Kvitova self-destruct.
