SIGNIFICANT RANKING CHANGES FOR THE WEEK OF 05.14.2018

Dusan Lajovic made it to his first Masters 1000 quarterfinals at the Mutua Madrid Open and this accomplishment earned the twenty-seven year old the honors of mover of the week. The Serbian is nine spots shy of his career high ranking and if he keeps playing at this level he may be able to surpass that ranking this season. The French Open is rapidly approaching and Lajovic will no doubt be hoping to go far in the draw.

 ATP Tour:  the top ten members remained the same; however, there were a few minor changes. Kevin Anderson moved up one to #7; Dominic Thiem fell one spot to #8; Rafael Nadal fell one spot to #2; and Roger Federer has regained the #1 spot.

WTA Tour: the top ten members remained the same; however, there were a few minor changes. Karolina Pliskova moved up one spot to #5; Jelena Ostapenko, Venus Williams and Sloane Stephens each fell one spot to #6, #9 and #10 respectively; and Petra Kvitova moved up two spots to #8. Simona Halep still reigns as #1.

SPOTLIGHT PLAYER: Alexander Zverev continues to perform as expected; he claimed his third Masters 1000 title at the Mutua Madrid Open.
