The 2019 season is just about over on both tours. The WTA ends their season at the termination of the WTA Finals currently taking place in Shenzhen, which is scheduled to end on November 3rd. The ATP Tour has one last tournament in Paris before their season ending finals in London.
Everyone has been scrambling to boost their rankings in preparation for the 2020 season, so they can get direct entry into the first major of the season, the Australian Open. It really puts a downer on their season to end the year on a low; however, unforeseen and lingering injuries continue to play a role in the lives of many of these athletes.
Mover Of The Week: Anderson
Kevin Anderson once a top ten player has been plagued by injury after injury since 2016 and has had surgery to correct the problems, but with each surgery there is a recovery period during which he has been unable to play and defend his ranking. Sadly, his 2019 season will also end in recovery, this time following right knee surgery in September.
We wish him a full recovery and hopefully he will come back stronger in 2020.

Top Ten Ranking Changes
ATP: there was a new addition to the top ten members, Matteo Berrettini cracked the top ten for the first time with a career high at #9. Karen Khachanov moved up one spot to #8 and Kei Nishikori fell out of the top ten to #11. All other members remained the same and maintained their positions from the previous week.
WTA: Ashleigh Barty continues to reign at #1.
