Who is Marcos Giron?  He is an American player who just got to a career high of seventy-two at the age of twenty-seven.

Giron turned professional at the age of 21 years, six years ago; a little late, but that is because he took the college route (UCLA 2012-2014).  Unfortunately for the American, hip issues derailed his career almost immediately.  Having one hip surgery is bad enough and he had to have the second hip repaired the next year: in 2015 he had right hip surgery; and then in 2016 he had the left hip surgically repaired.

What predisposed this young man to bilateral hip injuries necessitating surgical intervention at such an early age?  Was his injury a result of genetics, the wear and tear of the sport, or a combination of both factors?  I unfortunately do not have the answer to that question, but it certainly looks like this young man is using the 2020 season to turn things around.

He and his team are probably hoping that he keeps making this type of progress into next season; and so do we here at SERVEANDRALLY.  I love to see people defying the odds and we wish Giron much success.

WTA: The were no changes on the WTA.  Ashleigh Barty has locked in the #1 ranking.  There will be no WTA Finals this season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

There are two tournaments still scheduled on the WTA Tour

1. Upper Austria Ladies Linz (currently taking place, ends on Nov. 15, 2020)
2. 125K event scheduled in December in Limoges, France (Dec. 14, 2020- Dec. 20, 2020)
