Iva Jovic has emerged as a rising star in the tennis world by breaking into the top hundred rankings with her impressive performance at the Lexus ILKLEY Open, a prestigious WTA125 tournament held on grass in Great Britain. Jovic’s remarkable victory earned her 125 points, propelling her up the rankings. The American sensation showcased her tenacity and skill by defeating both the number two and number eight seeds on her path to victory. At just seventeen, Jovic demonstrated resilience and determination, with her first three rounds going the distance, proving she is a force to be reckoned with on the court.

What More Will Iva Jovic Accomplish This Season?

Since playing her first ITF event in 2022 and reaching her inaugural ITF final in the same year, Iva Jovic has been on a meteoric rise. In 2023, she claimed her first ITF title, making a bold statement about her ambitions in the tennis arena. Although I have yet to witness her play in person, I am eagerly anticipating her matches this season. With her undeniable talent and potential, I am curious to see how Jovic will continue to evolve and what unique qualities she will bring to the game.

ATP & WTA Top Ten Ranking Changes

ATP: there was one new member added and several positional changes in the top ten. Taylor Fritz climbed three spots back up to #4. Jack Draper fell two spots to #6. Lorenzo Musetti fell one spot to #7. Congratulations to Ben Shelton, who cracked the top ten barrier. Shelton climbed two spots to #10 and achieved a career high ranking. The top four players currently are: [1] Jannik Sinner; [2] Carlos Alcaraz; [3] Alexander Zverev; and [4] Taylor Fritz.

WTA: there were several positional changes in the top ten. Qinwen Zheng and Jasmine Paolini traded places to #4 and #5, respectively. Madison Keys climbed two spots to #6. Mirra Andreeva and Iga Swiatek each fell one spot to #7 and #8, respectively. Emma Navarro and Paula Badosa traded spots to #9 and #10, respectively. The top four players currently are: [1] Aryna Sabalenka; [2] Coco Gauff; [3] Jessica Pegula; and [4] Qinwen Zheng.

Other ATP & WTA Ranking News

There are currently four American women in the top ten: Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, [6] Madison Keys, and [9] Emma Navarro. There are also currently three American men in the top ten: Taylor Fritz, [8] Tommy Paul, and [10] Ben Shelton. Alex de Minaur fell two spots to #12.
