Shelton has reached the semifinals of two of the four major tournaments: the 2023 US Open and the 2025 Australian Open. On the women’s side, [13] Amanda Anisimova remains the sole American in the singles draw. With aspirations of winning a major title, she has previously reached the semifinals at Roland Garros in 2019 and the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. Her next opponent, veteran Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, poses a significant challenge. Despite Anisimova’s 3-0 lead in their head-to-head, Pavlyuchenkova’s experience and versatility make her a formidable adversary.
Three Determined Unseeded Players Remain
There are three unseeded women left in the singles draw: Belinda Bencic, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, and Laura Siegemund. This is the first Wimbledon quarterfinal for Bencic and Siegemund and it will be the second for Pavlyuchenkova.
