Jessica Pegula Makes Second Consecutive US Open Semifinals

[4] Jessica Pegula defeated Barbora Krejcikova in straight sets. It was a match full of twists and turns. Pegula got off to an early lead, but Krejcikova fought back to get back on serve. However, the American kept her cool and immediately broke again to secure the first set 6-3. The third set saw Pegula breaking the Czech player three times. Although Barbora Krejcikova got one of the breaks back, it was not enough to unsettle the American. This 6-3, 6-3 victory sends Pegula into her second semifinal at the US Open. She will play Aryna Sabalenka, who leads their H2H 7:2. Sabalenka advanced when Marketa Vondrousova withdrew from the tournament due to injury.

Jessica Pegula Efficiently Took Care Of Business

Jessica Pegula has not dropped a set in five rounds. Her longest match was in round three against Victoria Azarenka. That match lasted one hour and thirty eight minutes. In the majors, it is so important to conserve your energy in the early rounds, and the American has done just that. She will need the extra energy to find a way to defeat her next opponent. Pegula hopes that she will get another opportunity to get back to the final of a major. In 2024 she made it to the US Open final.

Carlos Alcaraz Is Primed To Make History

[2] Carlos Alcaraz was in no mood to be upset by [20] Jiri Lehecka. He was focused and ready from the first ball. Lehecka never had a look at breaking the Spaniard’s serve, who won 6-4, 6-2, 6-4. Alcaraz is into another major semifinal without dropping a set. His next opponent will be [7] Novak Djokovic. The Serb maintained his perfect record against [4] Taylor Fritz. He won in four sets, making their H2H 11:0.
