Khachanov Back In The Top 100 With 1st Title

WEEK:  10.03.2016

Karen Khachanov is the mover of the week; he jumped forty-six spots up the ranking after his impressive performance in Chengdu.  He won his first career ATP World Tour singles title by beating the in-form Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-7(4), 7-6(3), 6-3. Khachanov defeated four seeded players en route to the title.  He not only won his first title, he did so on the first attempt.  With the victory he is back in the top 100 and gets to a career high of number 55.  Expect to see more of this young Russian.  Hopefully he will build on this form in the off-season and be ready to do more damage in the 2017 season.  He also became the ninth first time winner on the ATP Tour this season.
