[19] John Isner defeated [208] Alejandro Tabilo (CHI) 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.

[29] Taylor Fritz had to do it the hard way. [122] Kevin Anderson (RSA) took the early lead two sets to love 6-4, 7-6(5); however, the American did not lose hope, he dug in his heels and fought back, taking the third set in a tiebreak 7-6(4). After that it was all Fritz as Anderson had nothing left in the tank to resist the charge of his younger opponent. Fritz won the last two sets 6-2, 6-2.
