Novak Djokovic Continues His Quest At Wimbledon

Djokovic’s Little Stumble On Day 1

No one can derail Novak Djokovic except Djokovic. The one major that has been difficult for him was Roland Garros and after claiming that earlier this month, there will be no stopping the Serbian. There was a slight tension in the first set, but that did not linger. The Serbian righted the ship with a dominant performance in the last three sets [4-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2].

20 Major Titles At Stake For Djokovic

Remember when Pete Sampras owned fourteen major titles and we all got excited. Roger Federer came along and obliterated that record with twenty. Everyone professed he is the GOAT, but wait, then came Rafael Nadal slowly but surely reeling in Federer and tied him at twenty majors. Unfortunately, that number of majors is no longer going to be the record because, here comes Djokovic sprinting up the runway. A win at Wimbledon will give the Serbian twenty major titles as well. Still, he will be one major away from winning the coveted Grand Slam, something that the GOAT never accomplished.

The Golden Slam Is Also Possible

If, that little word that can change so much, Djokovic wins the gold medal at the Olympics, he will be one step closer to accomplishing what only Steffi Graf has done. In 1988 the German tennis player won the golden slam [no other tennis player has ever accomplished this feat].
