Anna Blinkova may not be at her highest ranking; however, she does not care. Seven years ago, she turned professional at the age of seventeen. This weekend she made her first WTA final and claimed her first title.

Anna Blinkova Fights For First Title

Blinkova defeated two top fifty players en route to claiming the Transylvania Open in Romania. Four of her matches went to three sets, highlighting her fight and her fitness. Tennis is not just talent, it is the ability to mix the mental, the physical, and the emotional to create a state that allows you to perform at your best.

Anna Blinkova Climbs 59 Spots

Champions have this ability and know how to get into that zone even when things are not going as expected. This is what I find fascinating about tennis, watching how some players rise to the occasion and tap into that zone. How high will Anna Blinkova climb? We as fans will just have to wait and see.

ATP & WTA Top 10 Ranking Changes

ATP:  there were some changes in the members. Felix Auger-Aliassime is back at #10, displacing Cameron Norrie. Andrey Rublev and Taylor Fritz traded places to #8 and #9, respectively. The top four players remain the same: [1] Carlos Alcaraz; [2] Rafael Nadal; [3] Casper Ruud; and [4] Daniil Medvedev.

WTA: there were no changes amongst the top ten members; however, there were some reshufflings. Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, Maria Sakkari, and Coco Gauff each moved up one spot to #4, #5, #6, and #7, respectively. Paula Badosa fell to #8. The current top four players are: [1] Iga Swiatek; [2] Ons Jabeur; [3] Anett Kontaveit; and [4] Aryna Sabalenka.
