Andy Murray Highlights Day 2 Australian Open Results

Andy Murray

By now many who follow tennis should know that Andy Murray is a very determined young man. I remember what he did the year he became number one, 2016. Murray pushed his body to its limit and won nine titles. Amongst those titles were the Wimbledon Championships, Rio Olympics, and the ATP Finals. Two hip surgeries later (2018, 2019), he is still showing us his determination. It took Andy Murray almost five hours to defeat [13] Matteo Berrettini 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-7(7), 7-6(10-6). What will the Brit’s body have in the tank in his next match? We know mentally he will bring it, but will his body cooperate.

[12] Alexander Zverev battles past Juan Pablo Varillas in a four-hour match. Zverev won 4-6, 6-1, 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-4.

However, at twenty years old he should bounce back nicely. Shelton won 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(10-4).

Seeded Players Who Lost In Round One

[21] Martina Trevisan lost to qualifier Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 3-6, 2-6. This was a bit of a surprise, [26] Miomir Kecmanovic lost in straight sets to the qualifier, Nicolas Jarry. Jarryhad potential; however, his career got derailed when he was suspended for using a banned substance. Thus, this is 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(3) victory is a good result for the Chilean.  [31] Kaia Kanepi lost to the Australian wildcard, Kimberly Birrell in three sets. Kanepi won the first set but lost her way in the second set and the third set was a blow out [6-3, 6-7(4), 1-6].
