Injury Ends Nadal’s Reign As A Top 10 Player

Nadal's reign ended

Nadal’s reign as a top ten player came to an end on March 20, 2023. The last time Rafael Nadal was ranked outside the top ten was April 18, 2005. Nadal has had the longest uninterrupted streak as a top ten player of any male player. For almost eighteen years, the Spaniard has enjoyed being a top ten player. Unfortunately, that run is over.

Nadal’s Reign Is Over But Alcaraz’s Is Just Beginning

Meanwhile, the other Spaniard who continues to thrill fans, Carlos Alcaraz, is playing at a very high level. Alcaraz captured his second title of the 2023 season at Indian Wells over the weekend. Still just nineteen, the Spaniard is back at number one with three ATP Masters 1000 titles to his name. If he can win in Miami, he will be the youngest player to hold the sunshine double. He is a versatile player, but we still don’t really know his grass game; thus, we are curious to see how his grass court season unfolds this year.
