Marton Fucsovics Still Going Strong At 32

Marton Fucsovics

Marton Fucsovics is one of those tennis players that I always believed should have won more titles. The guy is so fit physically. However, we have heard it said repeatedly, tennis is a mental sport. There is no doubt that you need to be physically and emotionally fit; yet without mental fitness, you will fall apart every time. I know. Whether you are a professional or just a club house tennis player like me, you have to step on the tennis court mentally strong.

Mental Fortitude Tipped The Scale

Mental fortitude is not something that you can fake. I have been playing tennis since I was fourteen and really had no concept of the game. However, I have always been fascinated about what differentiates the top players from the wannabes. There is no doubt in my mind that it is what goes on between the ears. How a man or woman thinketh, so goes his or her game. The interesting thing is that mental fortitude can take a hit when you least expect it.

Marton Fucsovics Wins Second Career Title

Thus, kudos to Marton Fucsovics for continuing to believe and to power through some younger players to win this title. He won his first title in 2018. Corentin Moutet almost derailed the Hungarian; however, after dropping the first set, he dug deep to win the next two sets. The young Argentinian, Mariano Navone, put up some resistance in his first final appearance, but he was no match for Fucsovics. The Hungarian won 6-4, 7-5.
