Jessica Pegula To Battle Her Namesake

Jessica Bouzas Maneiro prefers the clay, but do not be deceived. The Spaniard defeated the hard serving and hitting Dayana Yastremska in the second round. She did so with a convincing 6-2 third set. Bouzas Maneiro also defeated [27] Anastasia Potapova in straight sets in round one. Thus, despite her preferring clay, Jessica Pegula should not underestimate her game and be prepared that she may have a battle on her hands against her namesake.

American Tien Amongst Fallen Seeds

[5] Mirra Andreeva had her chances and could not capitalize. The veteran and former Wimbledon champion (2024), Barbora Krejcikova, played her brand of tennis, which kept the Russian player rattled. We know how brilliant the Czech player is in doubles, but many forget that she was ranked as high as number two in singles. Today, Andreeva found out just how good she can play on grass when she lost to her 6-4, 5-7, 4-6. It was a mental as well as physical and emotional battle for both players.
