Coco Gauff has had a rocky 2026 season. However, this victory in the WTA1000 Cincinnati Open final will go a long way to smoothing things out going into the final major of the season. Perhaps this is a good omen for Gauff. The last time she won the title in Cincinnati, she also won the US Open (2023). Gauff would surely like to add another US Open trophy to her collection.

Coco Gauff had a rough staff to this tournament, dropping the first set 2-6 in the first round to a dangerous opponent, Liudmila Samsonova. Thankfully the American found her top form just in time to take the second set and force a deciding set. Once she found her game, the third set was a walk in the park, and Gauff did not drop another set in the tournament. With the victory in the final, she tied their H2H 5:5. Congratulations Coco!
