[20] Tommy Paul won the first set then did a walk about. This could have been a very costly mistake by the American. Things looked that way for a bit when [15] Alexander Bublik won the next two sets. However, I have to give Paul some credit, he did not fade away, he dug deep. His reward was a 6-4, 3-6, 6-7(4), 6-1, 6-3 victory.

American Townsend Gets Another Big Win

Okay Taylor Townsend, you have got to keep this up. Townsend pulled off another seeded victory, this time she defeated [15] Diana Shnaider 6-2, 6-7(3), 6-3. Alex Michelsen is keeping hope alive. He defeated Daniel Merida 7-6(5), 6-4, 6-3. [26] Emma Navarro got the upset of the day. She defeated [7] Karolina Muchova 6-3, 7-5. This was a must needed victory for the American who has been struggling to find her top ten form. I am really happy for her and hope she will continue to build on this result.

 [6] Linda Noskova had a tough battle against American [29] Ann Li. Noskova won 6-2, 6-7(6), 6-2 after a slight wobble in the second set. [7] Daniil Medvedev defeated [26] Arthur Rinderknech 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. [9] Elina Svitolina lost to [21] Anna Kalinskaya 3-6, 6-2, 3-6. Unfortunately, too much tennis finally caught up with the Ukrainian player. [18] Ekaterina Alexandrova lost easily to [11] Marta Kostyuk 3-6, 2-6. [16] Sorana Cirstea defeated [19] Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-3. Stefanos Tsitsipas is finding his game. He defeated [18] Jiri Lehecka 2-6, 6-1, 7-6(3), 6-1.
