Qinwen Zheng is a former top ten player as well as the 2024 Olympic gold medalist. She got to a career high of four in 2025. Zheng owns five singles titles to her name. In addition, she has been a WTA Finals and Australian Open finalist. Thus, this is a top player, who once again like so many players before her, had her career derailed by injury. Qinwen Zheng Announced Her Return In Style
The Chinese player showed us why she won gold and was a top four player. Of course there was some rust in her game, as to be expected. However, once she got going, she worked her way through each match to gain the victory. She took out two seeded players, one of which was Iga Swiatek, before losing in the quarterfinals to Elena Rybakina. I say Qinwen Zheng is back and ready to get back into the top ten. Her ranking got a nice boost following her brilliant performance at the US Open.

ATP & WTA Top Ten Ranking Changes
ATP: there were several changes in the top ten this week. Ben Shelton climbed five spots to #4. Felix Auger-Aliassime and Flavio Cobolli each fell one spot to #5 and #7, respectively. Daniil Medvedev climbed two spots to #6. Frances Tiafoe is back in the top ten at #8. Alex de Minaur fell two spots to #9. The top four players currently are: [1] Jannik Sinner; [2] Alexander Zverev; [3] Carlos Alcaraz; and [4] Ben Shelton.
