Keeping the antics to a minimum

US OPEN

[CR24] Gael Monfils (FRA) focused on playing brilliant tennis today in his win against [CR8] Grigor Dimitrov (BUL), 7-5, 7-6(6), 7-5.

Monfils is well known for his forceful shots, foot speed and dance moves; he is also known for his on court antics that in many ways may have detracted from his reaching his full potential.

I have to say that I have been impressed that he is finally putting together a nice stretch of concentrated tennis performance; focusing on the ball and his opponent, rather than getting caught up in on court drama.  Thus far, he has kept it to a minimum and has been thrilling his fans with his court coverage and brilliant play.

If he remains focused, he can be a threat to anyone; however, the question remains, will he stay focused enough to go all the way to his first Major Final?
