Men’s Final: [CR1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs. [CR2] Roger Federer (SUI)

Federer knows well his opponent’s abilities.  He knew that he had to bring his full arsenal and stay attentive to beat Djokovic.  Djokovic likewise is equally aware that beating Federer would require his best. Both players started off the match fully engaged, determined to push each other to their limit. Unfortunately, Djokovic briefly lost his focus and Federer took full advantage in the first set.

The second set was more competitive and the tennis was of the highest quality. When both players have such phenomenal abilities, how do you find their weakness? They all have an area where they are not quite as strong and you as the opponent have to find it and work furiously to break it down. Federer found Djokovic’s in the first set; could he continue his attack successfully in the second set to win the match? He did, staying focused and taking full advantage of both break point opportunities to win 6-4, 7-5.
