Zverev and Konjuh at Wimbledon

06292015 AZ[CR76] Alexander Zverev (GER) has seen his ranking improve since the start of the season from 136 to 76. He has been impressive against some quality opponents.  He recently took a set from the big serving Croat, Ivo Karlovic, in Halle.  He will be looking to continue his fine form against his first round opponent, [CR53] Teymuraz Gabashvili (RUS). However, he can expect a battle from Gabashvili. If he can score the upset, this will be a great victory for the teenager playing in his first major main draw.

UPDATE 6/29/2015:  Zverev won his first match at a major.  It was a tough battle, but he prevailed 63, 16, 63, 36, 97.  He will gladly use the day off to replenish his energy for his second round opponent.

062015 AKonjuh[CR55] Ana Konjuh (CRO).  The teenage sensation from Croatia is riding a wave of confidence coming into Wimbledon.  She turned professional in 2014 and won her first WTA singles title on grass at Nottingham earlier this month.  En route to her victory, she defeated her opponents without dropping a set until the final.  She will be hoping to continue her brilliant play against [CR25] Alize Cornet (FRA) in the first round of Wimbledon.  Konjuh made it to R32 last year at Wimbledon and will aim to duplicate her efforts this year. Can she keep up her winning ways or will Cornet ruin her plans?

UPDATE 6/30/2015: Konjuh lost easily to Cornet, 62, 62.  Not the match I anticipated, I thought Konjuh would challenge Cornet and perhaps get the upset.
