Lingering Injury Impacts Ivanovic’s Ranking

WEEK:  10.10.2016

The mover of the week honors go to Ana Ivanovic.  Unfortunately, Ivanovic joins a slew of other players whose season has been interrupted by injury.  She has had an injury plagued season (knee and now wrist) and has not played tennis since her first round loss at this year’s US Open.  As a result she has been unable to defend her quarterfinal round points at the Toray Pan Pacific Open; her third round points at the Wuhan Open; and her semifinal round points at the China Open.   She has not won a title since 2014 and it’s unlikely that she will win one this season.  However, we know she is a fighter and hope that she is recovering nicely and will come back with a vengeance in 2017.
