Jasmine Paolini Scores Big in Slovenia

Jasmine Paolini

Jasmine Paolini won her first title, claiming the mover of the week honors. Paolini defeated four of the top eight seeds en route to claiming the title in Slovenia. In the process she defeated American Alison Riske, who was just getting her game going after an injury prone season. Thus, in spite of the loss, team Riske must be feeling quite pleased with her performance.

Jasmine Paolini No Stranger To Hard Work

Paolini proves her height is not a disadvantage. At 5’4”, the Italian competes well, taking advantage of being short by being a very good mover. Although being taller gives a player a few advantages, height can also detract from their mobility. Their center of gravity is also impacted, and they can often struggle to bend and get below the ball. Well done to Paolini for doing it the hard way.
