Rafael Nadal’s Quest For The Grand Slam

If Rafael Nadal wants to increase the likelihood of winning Wimbledon, he needs to start playing with more conviction and less timidity. Also, stop squandering his break point opportunities. For Pete’s sake, he has got to stop spending so much time on court. He is not twenty anymore and the toll of these long matches is cumulative. This mid-match loss of focus has got to stop.

Today Nadal played a little over three hours to secure the victory, which is fairly long for a four-set match on grass. In his first round match, he was pushed to a little over three and a half hours. He has not played competitively on grass this season and usually gets better with practice; however, these long matches may take a toll.
