Another Big Title For Jessica Pegula

Gael Monfils

Jessica Pegula won another WTA1000 title. What made this one extra sweet was her three-set battle and victory over the number one ranked Iga Swiatek. En route to the Banque Nationale title, Pegula also defeated her doubles partner, Coco Gauff. Interesting note, her two toughest matches were against two top ten ranked players.

Jessica Pegula Plays Consistent Tennis

One of the reasons Jessica Pegula has been able to hold the top ranked American spot in women’s tennis is because she plays consistently quality tennis. Her results would probably be better if she did not play doubles, because I think at this level it is very draining mentally and physically to play both singles and doubles. It has certainly helped her game; however, I have seen it caused her to lose in singles because of fatigue.
