Tomas Machac Is Back In The Top 100

Tomas Machac

Tomas Machac gets the mover of the week honors this week. The twenty-two-year-old Czech player cracked the top 100 barrier for the second time following back-to-back titles on the ATP Challenger circuit. He defeated three top hundred players to win his first title: Richard Gasquet, Benjamin Bonzi, and Constant Lestienne. Machac comes from a country that has produced some top male and female tennis players. Will Machac accomplish what no other Czech male tennis player has accomplished? Lots of pressure on his young shoulders.

What Do We Know About Tomas Machac?

Machac turned profession in 2017. In 2022, he was ranked ninety-seven when he cracked the top hundred barrier for the first time. Perhaps this time around he will build on the ranking and solidify his position in the top hundred. Some players make the transition to professional status easily, some struggle to adjust to the power and the pace of play, and still there are others that never adjust. What is the difference between the three different categories of players? I strongly believe it is a matter of their mindset, those that adapt easily accept reality and the truth. They are also willing to make the necessary sacrifices with a healthy attitude. Of course, it helps to be physically fit and strong.
