Will Madison Keys Shine Again At The Australian Open?

Madison Keys

Madison Keys reached a career milestone in February 2025 by clinching her first major title at the Australian Open. However, the journey since then has been rocky. Her recent match in Brisbane (January 2026) saw her defeated in straight sets by the top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka. Adding to her struggles, she withdrew from the WTA Finals after two losses and faced an early exit at the US Open, losing in the first round to a player ranked 82nd. Despite reaching several quarterfinals and two semifinals in 2025, another title remained elusive.

How Far Will Madison Keys Get In This Form?

The outlook is not bright for Madison Keys, who was seen competing with a heavily bandaged thigh against Sabalenka in Brisbane’s quarterfinals. Could this injury be affecting her performance? We’ve observed this pattern before with several players, they secured a major title only to face a subsequent slump. Keys needs to regain her fitness and form swiftly, as the Australian Open kicks off this Sunday. While I wholeheartedly support her in defending her title, her current form suggests she might face an early exit from the tournament.
