Arthur Fery made the most of his opportunity to play on home soil at the Championships Wimbledon. Many might not have expected him to excel as he did. Initially, he seemed to have a relatively easy draw until reaching the fourth round. Surprisingly, he defeated Grigor Dimitrov, and in the quarterfinals, he overcame [9] Flavio Cobolli with ease, despite a slight wobble in the second set.

Arthur Fery’s journey was halted in the semifinals by [2] Alexander Zverev. Nevertheless, he challenged the German in the first set. Zverev maintained his composure in the tiebreaker and secured a straight-sets victory. The French-born British player was handsomely rewarded for his valiant effort. Beyond the prize money, the significant boost to his confidence and ranking was invaluable. Fery stepped up and delivered quality tennis, a feat some top seeds who exited early couldn’t claim. Well done to Fery!

ATP: there were several positional changes in the top ten post Wimbledon. Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz traded places to #2 and #3, respectively. Alex de Minaur and Ben Shelton also traded places to #5 and #6, respectively. Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, and Flavio Cobolli each moved up one spot to #7, #8, and #9 respectively. Taylor Fritz fell three spots to #10. The top four players currently are: [1] Jannik Sinner; [2] Alexander Zverev; [3] Carlos Alcaraz; and [4] Felix Auger-Aliassime.
