Ashlyn Krueger Amongst Four American Women Left In Singles

Ashlyn Krueger

Ashlyn Krueger enters this matchup as one of four American women still standing in the Wimbledon singles draw, but she’ll need to lean heavily on her variety to disrupt [12] Marta Kostyuk. Krueger’s ability to change pace, mix spins, and use the court creatively will be essential in preventing Kostyuk from settling into her preferred style of play.

Can Ashlyn Krueger Disrupt Kostyuk’s Rhythm?

Kostyuk brings a serve‑first mentality and looks to take control early in rallies, forcing opponents to defend from uncomfortable positions. If Krueger can neutralize that initial strike and keep Kostyuk moving, she can turn this into a tactical battle rather than a power‑driven one. The American will have to bring the best of Maria Sharapova and Kim Clijsters if she wants to pull off this upset.

The Three Other American Women Left In The Draw

[4] Jessica Pegula defeated fellow American [16] Iva Jovic. Jovic won the first set but could not keep the momentum going and completely faded in the third set. A bit surprising considering that she is usually a good fighter. Pegula won the third set convincingly to win the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Jessica Pegula advances to another major quarterfinal and will play her former doubles partner [7] Coco Gauff.

Gauff got in trouble with the double faults and complicated the match more than she wanted. She had the early lead in the first set, but the double faults followed by a slew of errors cost her the set. I was nervous every time she stepped up to serve; however, when it mattered most, she held her nerve and served it out with an ace. [11] Belinda Bencic made her earn the 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory.

[26] Madison Keys faces a genuinely tricky test against [9] Linda Noskova, whose well‑rounded game and ability to match Keys’ power make this first‑ever meeting far from straightforward. Keys will try to dictate with her trademark first‑strike aggression, but Noskova’s composure under pressure and her knack for redirecting pace could neutralize those weapons. With both players capable of taking control early in rallies, this matchup has all the ingredients of a tight, momentum‑shifting battle. Let’s go Keys!

Taylor Fritz Is Sole American Man Left In Singles

[6] Taylor Fritz is the sole American man left in the singles draw at Wimbledon. He will have to get past the dangerous [10] Alexander Bublik. They are tied 4:4 in their H2H. Fritz won their most recent meeting on grass and leads 2:0 on grass. However, I say throw the stats out the window as Bublik is very unpredictable. Let’s see which version shows up for the match, the scary talented player or the player who is not fully engaged in the match.

Naomi Osaka Claimed The Upset Of The Tournament

Everyone thought with both the number two and three seeds gone, that this was [1] Aryna Sabalenka’s tournament to win. Not so fast stated [14] Naomi Osaka. The Japanese player trailed their H2H 1:3; however, there is something about her current demeanor that made me wonder if Sabalenka was in for a rough day. Despite a valiant effort from the Belarusian in the second set, Osaka won 6-2, 7-6(2).

The Other Day Seven Fallen Seed

[3] Felix Auger-Aliassime dispatched [22] Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a match that almost went to four and a half hours. The Spaniard folded in the last set after winning the fourth set. Auger-Aliassime won 6-7(4), 7-6(6), 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-1.
