Caroline Dolehide Topples Several Barriers

Caroline Dolehide

Caroline Dolehide no doubt wants to be number one at some point in her tennis career. It is presumptuous of me; however, I cannot imagine any player not wanting to be number one. To get to that illustrious position, you must win matches and go deep in the draw. Dolehide surprised a lot of people when she strung all the pieces together and made it to her first WTA final, which was also her first 1000 final.

Injury May Have Derailed Dolehide

Did the thigh injury hinder Dolehide? There is always the possibility that her body was not fully prepared for the demands on playing so many matches, plus she was also in doubles. Perhaps she would have benefitted from dropping out of doubles to give her a better chance, physically, of winning this prestigious title.

Caroline Dolehide Has The Weapons

Caroline Dolehide turned professional in 2015; however, like so many athletes, she was derailed by a left foot injury. She has the weapons, and it appears she has the mental fortitude to fight through periods of adversity. Hopefully we get to see a lot more of the American player.
